Kubuntu 11.10 "Low Fat Settings"

Iako je još u beta fazi, za novi Kubuntu 11.10 dostupan je paket kubuntu-low-fat-settings. Ovaj paket bi trebao da obezbedi brže podizanje operativnog sistema i korišćenje manje memorije, i to tako što isključuje kompozitni dekstop, onemogućuje podizanje raznih modula kao što su: "free space notifier", "nepomuk" i sl, smanjivanjem broja "krunner" plaginova itd.

Firefox7

Za instalaciju Firefox-a 7 na Ubuntu 11.10 beta2, treba koristiti samo komandu:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

a za Ubuntu 10.04, 10.10 i 11.04, komande
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox
